These letters are from John Ruskin to three very different people: the Marchioness of Waterford, one of the great ladies of the period living in her castle in Northumberland and designer of remarkable frescoes; Ellen Heaton from Leeds, eager to move in literary and artistic circles; and Anna Blunden, a West Country girl who exhibited at the Royal Academy and was in love with Ruskin.
